Our dearest little girl, you’ve turned the BIG ONE! This makes us excited and sad at the same time. It seems like yesterday you entered this world screaming and your parents stared at you in awe. We’re lucky to have you in our lives, and we can’t wait to celebrate dozens and dozens of birthdays with you as you grow up to be a lovely, smart and worldly young woman.
So, tearfully, we recap the last month:
You took your first photo with Santa and looked stone-cold into the camera. No smile, no nothing. Poor Elf!
You experienced your first snow in Maryland where we spent an extended vacation for Christmas and New Year’s.
You became more vocal - speaking it what seemed like your own language and even putting remote controls and toy phones up to your ear like your parents do with their cell phones.
You celebrated your dol - Korean 1st birthday celebration - surrounded by your loved ones on the East Coast. It was an epic party.
You celebrated your actual birthday at an intimate dinner with your Mama, Papa, Samchon and Hanna.
You started pursing your lips to give out fishy-face kisses.
You had your first Gymboree experience, and was a little shy about running around.
You were sick for a while, along with your parents. Thank goodness we got over that hump.
